Ephesians 4:1-6

4 I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.

Dear Church Family,

It’s hard to believe summer is quickly coming to an end. But I am very excited about what is coming up for us as we move into fall. Last time the session met together, we talked about all the new ministries we are embarking upon, related to our New Beginnings process, and what surfaced was that we  are “A Church on the Move!” And so now that has become our new slogan. We indeed are a church on the move and I hope you will join us in whatever way you feel called and be on the move too!  The church fall kickoff that begins after Labor Day. The choir is returning and Cindy Lam will be back, the Women’s Bible study will begin a new study, and we will begin an adult education series focused on spiritual reflections on individual life experiences. The series is called “Nooma” and the word comes from a phonetic spelling of the Greek word pneuma meaning “wind”, “spirit” or “breath”. Sounds interesting doesn’t it?  I hope you will join us after worship for these moving spiritual reflections. No book is required and each week will be a totally different topic so come as it fits into your schedule.

God’s peace,
Pastor Barbara

This Sunday I will be preaching on Ephesians 4:1-6 and we will be focusing on how to engage in crucial conversations; conversations when stakes are high. Not all conversations are easy, often they are peppered with emotions that get us off track. Sometimes instead of promoting a spirit of unity and peace, we are left disconnected and angry, We will be looking at the insights from a book, “Crucial Conversations,” and see how the authors can help us engage effectively in those difficult encounters.

See you Sunday!

Food Pantry Updates!

The EGPC food pantry continues to serve our community and our volunteers remain faithful in their service to us. We are committed to adhering to all precautionary measures to ensure no cross-contamination with clients. The Food Pantry Donation drop box always seems to be filled. As you check on your neighbors, please share with them that our food pantry is open and ready to help anyone who needs food!

Food continues to appear in our food box.  Almost daily there is something donated and many times from people we don’t even know! I want to send a special thanks to all those faithful shoppers who each week pick up the special things we need. It is an ongoing blessing to be so graciously supported by your donations and donations from our community.

Current items needed by the food pantry:
