Dear Church Family,
I hope you have been able to engage in our devotional readings for advent. Even if you find it hard to read it everyday, feel free to pick and choose what you would like to read. The important point is to spend some time in scripture and to spend time with God! I have been reflecting on yesterday’s reading (page 14) about Zechariah. The question about silence and why God silenced his voice is still on my mind. The devotional talks about the silencing of Zechariah’s voice and how the silence pushed him out from the center. The author described it as “de-centering” Zachariah. This is powerful! Sometimes we have to get out of the way, let go of preconceived ideas, stop planning for every detail and let God take over. For Zachariah, God did take over and it ended up that Zachariah experienced God in a whole new way. Zachariah experienced God in a restorative, healing way. May a little more silence come our way so we can see and experience God too!
Don’t forget this Sunday is the “Christmas Cantata.” You won’t want to miss our choir performing an array of Christmas music to fill our hearts and prepare us for the coming of Christ!
Advent Blessings,
